It's getting warmer outside! As the weather gets nicer, there will be all kinds of fun events going on in Columbus. If you are looking for something to look forward to this summer, check out this list!
1) Food Truck Thursdays
Are you working an internship close to downtown this summer? If you are, or happen to be in the area, you should check out Food Truck Thursdays between 11 am and 2 pm at the Columbus Commons. I mentioned the Commons in a previous blog post, it's like the Central Park of Columbus. They always have great choices including pizza, local favorites like Schmidt's, and healthy options as well! For dessert, don't forget to check out the Jeni's Ice Cream location that is open on the Commons everyday!
2) Tater Tots and Beer Festival
While we are on the subject of the Commons, I couldn't leave out one of the many festivals the Commons will host this summer. On June 11th, you will be able to enjoy a wide range of beers while eating delicious creations made from tater tots. This event will also feature live music and fun! If you can't make this event, don't get too upset! The Commons frequently holds events like this, check out the event calender here!
3) Gallery Hop
Do you like art? If you do, then this is the event for you! Beginning over 30 years ago, once a month on Saturday, people flock to the streets of the Short North. If you attend Gallery Hop, prepare to celebrate art! You will start by visiting galleries, watching entertainment and non-traditional art forms as well as eating some of the best food Columbus has the offer starting at 4pm until the bars shut down! 4) Zoofari at the Columbus Zoo
When I first found out about this event I felt like all my childhood dreams were coming true. On June 17th, the Zoo will be hosting a 21 and up party featuring over 100 restaurants so you can "graze" while looking at all the animals. The event also features a full schedule of live bands! Please note that you have to purchase tickets, the sooner you buy them, the less expensive!
5) Dime a Dog Night with the Clippers
Yes, this still exists. Yes, it's actually a dime. If the Clippers have a home game on Monday night, you can get your fill of hot dogs! There is a limit of 10 hot dogs per person per visit to the concession stand, but if you really need more than 10 hot dogs you can get back in line. If you need the clippers schedule, click here! Not sure how this event doesn't bankrupt the clippers but we won't ask questions.
